The purpose may be the remove contaminants (mill scale, sand on foundry pieces, old coatings etc), strengthening the material\u00a0 and creating an anchor profile.<\/p>\n

An important aspects of the shot blasting operation is maintaining a balanced working mix, in order to create the right quality of finish and to work as effectively and efficiently\u00a0 as possible. A non-expendable abrasive can be used in blast rooms or blast cabinets. In the blast room the air is filtered and the abrasive is collected and air washed to be used again. Savings are made by reduction of the cost of abrasive itself, but also on transportation and deposal costs.<\/p>\n

Our High Carbon Steel Grit GH is intended for use in blast rooms. The abrasive is very hard (60-64 HRC) and therefore it stays angular and has a quick cleaning rate. In cases where ferrous contamination is not allowed our aluminium oxide, garnet, stainless steel and glass beads are often used.<\/p>\n

Open blasting is performed where there is a need to blast on site or when there is no blast room or cabinet available. For open blasting mainly expendable abrasives are being used for the job. Airblast Abrasives BV supplies garnet, aluminium silicate and glass grit for such open blasting operations.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner]\n\t\t

Cutting<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t[vc_column_text css=”” woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]Abrasives are being used to saw large granite blocks into fine slaps. The grains are circulated between the stone and the blade to improve the cutting action. Our High Carbon Steel Grit GH with a hardness of 60-64 HRC is well suited to be used for this operation.<\/p>\n
