Blast helmets
Blasting operations expose your head, face and airways to rebounding abrasive, airborne dust and high noise levels. A blast helmet provides the protection you need in these conditions. The helmet fully isolates the operator from the surrounding environment and delivers clean breathing air under slight overpressure through an integrated air supply system. This allows you to work safely, even during intensive and extended blasting shifts.
Airblast supplies professional blast helmets for a wide range of industrial applications. Our items are suitable for a wide range of industries such as shipbuilding and offshore, but also industrial maintenance and blast rooms. All models comply with EN 271 and carry a protection factor of 1000.

What makes a good blast helmet?
A blast helmet is more than just protective equipment. During intensive use, the helmet largely determines how comfortably and safely the operator can do their job. A well-designed blast helmet combines robust materials with practical usability. One of the key criteria include the weight of the helmet, the degree of noise reduction, the field of vision through the visor, the adjustability of the air supply, and how quickly wearing parts such as visors and neck capes can be replaced.
A reliable airflow indicator is not a luxury in this context. This has an immediate effect on whether the compressed air supply is sufficient for safe use. Airblast blast helmets include this safety feature as standard.
Blast helmets from Airblast
Airblast offers four blast helmets, each developed for specific working conditions and operator requirements.
The Blast Helmet EXTREME is made from glass fibre reinforced polyester with a blue rubber coating that effectively reduces the noise level of rebounding particles. An adjustable headband provides a personalised fit. The airflow is adjustable between 130 and 220 l/min, and the total weight including hose and regulator is 2,000 grams. The EXTREME is compatible with the Vortex climate control unit for working conditions involving extreme temperatures.
The Blast Helmet ASTRO, NOVA and NOVA 3 complete the range with variants suited to different working conditions, weight requirements or budgets. Visit the individual product pages for full specifications and parts lists for each model.
All wearing parts, such as visors, rubber seals, neck bibs and capes in leather, bisonyl or cotton, are easy to replace. This ensures that the helmet stays in optimal condition for the years to come.
Combining a blast helmet with other personal protection
A blast helmet protects the head and airways, but forms part of a broader package of personal protective equipment. For a fully safe working environment, combine the helmet with blasting suits, gloves and blasting boots. Also ensure clean and dry compressed air through an air treatment system. Untreated compressor air can contain moisture and oil that negatively affect the air quality inside the helmet.
